After a mention by the prolific pen behind the Caribbean WISE Facebook Group (and I recommend you consider joining this, by the way), I checked out DataBasin and must say that it's a very well managed data portal. DataBasin allows login with an ESRI Global Account, is well designed and easy to use, and most impressive, has very responsive support.
